BREAKING: Huge Update On Randy Orton’s Future After Being Removed By WWE – Reports
Randy Orton’s WWE future has been up in the air since reports surfaced that he was dealing with a significant back injury. Now, an update has emerged on his status, and it seems like the wait for his return will continue.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Orton is not scheduled to return on next week’s SmackDown.
The Viper was last seen in action at WrestleMania 42, where he unsuccessfully challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event. From turning on Pat McAfee to him giving Cody Rhodes a Punt Kick, Randy Orton caused some shenanigans in the match.
Orton seemingly worked the entire match with a back injury, which Michael Cole also mentioned during commentary. He was previously listed on the website to appear on the go-home episode of SmackDown before Clash in Italy on May 29 in Barcelona, Spain. Despite being advertised, he didn’t show up.
Last month, WWE updated its official Superstars banner, removing Randy Orton. Fans have since been wondering when he will be back on television. Although he continues to be listed for SmackDown as part of the ongoing European Summer Tour, his ongoing absence continues to be the talk of the wrestling town.
WWE legend Randy Orton addresses back injury rumors
Randy Orton recently took to his X handle to quash rumors of a back injury keeping him on the sidelines. The Legend Killer said he’s currently on vacation, but will be back soon to win his 15th World Championship.
“Lmao just milking it guys, leave me alone I’m trying to enjoy my summer before I come back and take that #15.”
This all but confirms that his feud with Rhodes is far from over. Orton is expected to pick up right where he left off. The American Nightmare is in the midst of a feud with Gunther. The two men faced each other at Clash in Italy, which saw Rhodes emerge victorious after a controversial finish.
The Ring General’s foot was placed under the bottom rope when the referee counted the pin. A rematch between the two men is in the works, but this time it will be contested under a stipulation, which is yet to be revealed.
